I am so excited! I’m heading out to New Orleans in the morning to receive the Humanitarian Award from Varleri Bocage’s Powerful Women International organization.
I am also scheduled to be one of the break out session speakers where I’ll be presenting the 7 Techniques to Thrive in Any Economy. It is going to be so much fun to work with the women who are making a difference in the world.
I talked with Evelyn Green yesterday. She lives in New Orleans and she has been working with the kids on the streets. She and her friend are going to sponsor on of their kids in UBU.
People complain all the time about the state of the world and how bad the economy is, but here are two women who are quietly going about the business of making a major difference in the world.
It takes so little to make such a huge contribution in the world.
Our children are our legacy. The unfortunate ones who end up living on the streets and becoming part of the “system” have few choices. It seems simple to those looking in and observing, but when these children are in the midst of trying to survive on their own, from nine or ten years old because they have no home to live in, their choice are compromised to say the least. Most have no choice at all.
As we enter the holiday season, if you are comfortable in your life and your home, do something to make the life of a child somewhat less of a challenge.
Your holidays will be more rich for doing so.
