Bon Voyage

The countdown is on and we’re all set to head to Belize and get our project started. It has been a challenging seven months in that the waiting game has played over and over again like a broken record.

I understand all of the unforeseen complicated networks when there is this much money involved but we are chomping at the bit to get started.

bonvoyageOur Bon Voyage party brought us all together to celebrate getting one step closer to launching the project. We had 26 people who were able to attend and we had a wonderful evening.

The videos can be seen under the video tab or just click on the word video.

What I loved most about the evening is the ease in which everyone moved through conversations, introduced themselves and introduced others to each other. There was a genuine sense of camaraderie that I realized has been prevalent in all of our gatherings.

I was so pleased to have had Chris Downs, Gwen Blake, Julian Kaplan and Robin and Ed Grant all on speaker phones so they could be a part of the evening.

For those of you who were not able to attend, you were missed but there in our hearts.

We’re one step closer, one day closer and soon we will be able to break ground!

Bon Voyage . . .

About Sharyn

As founder of UBU I found my inspiration from my brother Tony who was a foster child, then adopted by my parents when he was five. After listening to his stories about the treatment he received while in the homes I began to think of what it was like for him as well as the thousands of other kids. I decided to start the school after Tony passed on in 2008. It is my tribute to him and all that he did for me. Of all the things I've done in my life, this is the one thing that truly makes me feel like I'm finally on the right path.
