I was invited to a sports event by Angela Cleo Smith a connection on LinkedIn, to attend an event in Oakland for youth sports programs.
I love going to new events with an open mind. I talked with a woman in the elevator who was displaying her art.
The first person I met after signing in was Mike Norris. He played for the Oakland A’s 1975-1990. He organizes youth camps to teach inner city kids how to play baseball.
Vida Blue who played with Mike came in next and we talked a bit about UBU and what I want for the children who are forced to live on the streets.
It didn’t take long before we decided to have another conversation about how we might work together.
I also met Norma Ward who has been working in the Youth and young adult programs in Oakland.

Mike and I met to talk about putting together a sports program for all sports utilizing celebrity sports personalities to host sports camps in Belize.
We’ll have Mike and Vida head up the programs and organize the sports celebrities to conduct summer camps.
It will take quite a bit of organizing but it is well worth the time and effort it will take create a program as in depth as this one will be.
