I was talking with Greg this morning, he’s an artist in San Francisco and has an amazing art Gallery, Johnny Utah’s in San Francisco at 1495 Valencia.
I was telling him that one of the things I wanted to do was to create a Caribbean Music Festival in Belize to increase the almost non existent music industry there, but also, to have the students take part in the planning of a major event.
Music is a big part of children’s lives and should be nurtured and encouraged. More students who are involved in music attend college than the percentage of those who don’t take music in some manner, whether it’s an instrument or voice.
Greg casually mention he is friends with several major musicians including Boz Scaggs. He said he would be happy to ask his contacts to participate in a festival to help raise funds for the school.
I have been in the business of helping others for more than 20 years and I have never seen anything ever happen like this.
It seems as though every time I connect with someone they have a contact or a connection for me for the school or relating to Belize. I am so grateful and feel so fortunate. What an amazing time in my life!
